Community and Faith-Based Organizations provide essential services and support to many Lane County residents on a daily basis throughout the year. These Organizations will become even more critical to their service recipients during an influenza pandemic. The number of persons needing support or services from Community and Faith-Based Organizations may increase during a pandemic.
Community and Faith-Based Organizations should determine how a pandemic may affect their services, the recipients of Organization services, their local and regional support systems and vendors, and organization staff and their families. With this information Community and Faith-Based Organizations can develop plans which will allow them to maintain services during a pandemic.
There are a number of resources specifically for Community and Faith-Based Organizations including a planning guide, prevention guidelines, and a preparedness checklist available at the U.S. government pandemic planning website, PandemicFlu.gov (http://www.pandemicflu.gov/plan/community/index.html).
